Hoboken Man Was Dealing Drugs From His Home, Police Say

HOBOKEN, NJ — Police arrested a man on Friday for dealing drugs out of his Hoboken home, and found cocaine and cash when they searched, police said.

Tajhmere Rhone, 34, was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, and related offenses, a Hoboken public safety spokesperson said.

The arrest followed a month-long investigation by the HPD Street Crimes Unit, in response to resident complaints.

At 5 a.m. Friday, Hoboken police and the Hudson County SWAT Team headed to Rhone's home on the 300 block of Harrison Street, police said.

They arrested Rhone at home and found suspected heroin and cocaine, along with cash.

Rhone was arrested for the sale of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of public housing, and possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

He was also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await a detention hearing.

“I commend the thorough work of our Street Crimes Unit, who saw this case from start to finish,” said Police Chief Steven Aguiar. “We take all resident complaints seriously and will continue to act on them. Drug activity is not tolerated in Hoboken.”
