HOBOKEN, NJ — It's always construction time somewhere in Hoboken, but Thursday night's banging and pounding might be especially noisy, according to officials.

In a message to residents, the city said that overnight work will be performed on Bloomfield Street, between 14th and 15th streets, from 8 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday.

"Crews will reconnect a section of a 16-inch water main as part of the Rebuild by Design Resist - North project, which must be conducted overnight because it requires a water shutoff to several businesses, including a doctor's office and a daycare facility, that would otherwise need to close during a daytime outage," they noted.

They said some noise will be necessary, but they will try to limit it.
