Weehawken Man Sexually Assaulted Teen He Met Through Instagram: Prosecutors

WEEHAKWN, NJ —A Weehawken man has been charged with sexually assaulting a teen girl who officials say he met through social media.

Richard Moran, 25, was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that the crimes occurred on various dates last June after Moran met the girl, then 15, via Instagram.

He was charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, prosecutors said.

He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await his first court appearance, prosecutors said.
