Woman Seriously Injured In Hoboken Hit-And-Run While Walking Dog: Officials
"What matters most is our neighbor's recovery, and finding the reckless coward," said a Hoboken official about the hit-and-run.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A Hoboken woman is in intensive care after being struck in a hit-and-run Saturday while walking her dog, officials said.
Police responded to the intersection of 15th and Hudson streets, near the northern waterfront, around 12:55 a.m. Saturday after reports of a crash, a city spokesperson said on Monday.
A 39-year-old woman was brought to a local hospital and remained in the Intensive Care Unit as of Monday, officials said.

Local officials said the woman was in stable condition despite serious injuries.
Mayor Emily Jabbour said, "I am praying for her swift and full recovery ... I know that when the driver is caught, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Separately, I have asked the city’s transportation planners and engineers to survey the intersection and determine what safety improvements may be needed."
Second Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher said, "Right now, what matters most is our neighbor’s recovery, and finding the reckless coward who ran the stop sign, struck her as she was walking her dog, and left her injured in the street."
She added, "Fifteenth Street has long felt like one of Hoboken’s most dangerous streets, and recent construction isn’t helping. I will continue working with the mayor and administration to make this critical stretch safer."
The corner is in a residential area of the north waterfront, with several large condominium and apartment complexes.
