Tornado Watch Issued, Howell Residents Urged To Prep For Severe Storms
Strong winds and heavy rain are expected Monday afternoon and evening, and Howell officials are urging residents to be prepared.
HOWELL, NJ — Howell officials are urging residents to be aware and take precautions ahead of severe storms that are set to move into New Jersey on Monday afternoon.
A tornado watch has been issued for most of the state until 7 p.m. by the National Weather Service, which says the storms headed for the state could be severe.
A tornado watch means weather conditions exist that are favorable to producing tornadoes, the weather service said.

"Review and discuss your emergency plans, take inventory of your supplies and check your safe room," the National Weather Service says of a tornado watch. "Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching. Acting early helps to save lives."
Strong winds and heavy rain are expected to continue well into the evening, officials said.
