• Check-washing operation in North Jersey caused over $670K in losses (wchram.com) — An Irvington man has pleaded guilty in federal court to joining a North Jersey check‑washing scheme that stole and altered mailed checks, causing more than $670,000 in losses. Working with a Roselle Park accomplice, he used stolen postal keys to access mail in several towns and now faces up to five years in prison at sentencing next year.
