2 Cars Heavily Damaged In Jersey City Heights Crash

JERSEY CITY, NJ — After two cars were heavily damaged in a crash in Jersey City Heights on Tuesday, a councilman said he is concerned about traffic in the area.

The crash occurred at the corner of Irving Street and Nelson Avenue early in the morning.

Ward D Councilman Jake Ephros, who represents the area, said Tuesday, "I am still learning more details but I know we deserve better. I've been communicating with residents and city admin. for all four months since I took office about street safety and traffic concerns along Nelson."

He said that the mayor revived the Traffic Enforcement Division and that the city's Department of Infrastructure will be hiring traffic engineers soon.

The corner of Nelson and Irving will now top his list of street safety priorities, he said, suggesting that people submit other problem intersections to him at jakeforjc.com/service.
