Food Network Star Will Open Restaurant In Downtown Jersey City (patch.com) — Downtown Jersey City is getting a new Korean restaurant, Dubu Hana, led by Food Network chef Esther Choi and chef Jessica Lee-An at 8 Erie Street this fall. The spot, a short walk from the Grove Street PATH and waterfront, will focus on comforting Korean home-style dishes elevated with modern techniques, in partnership with respected Korean food brand Pulmuone.

Jersey City Residents Pack Council Meeting, Voice Concerns Over Proposed 2026 Budget (tapinto.net) — Jersey City residents packed a recent council hearing to protest a proposed 15% municipal tax increase in the 2026 budget and press for different spending priorities. Speakers pushed to protect right-to-counsel housing funds and limit police increases, while council members warned the state-mandated hike could still force some neighbors from their homes before amendments are finalized next week.

Advocates are pressing state leaders for funding and a clear plan to complete the memorial, even as a major Liberty State Park revitalization moves ahead without including Empty Sky.
