ā¢ Keeping up with KHS Health Clubs (coltchronicle.org) ā Students at Kinnelon High School are turning health-focused clubs into powerful engines for local cancer awareness and fundraising, from bagel sales to health fairs and creative events. Guided by teacher Wendy Bruffy, members of Cancer Awareness, Red Cross, and HOSA clubs organize monthly campaigns, share educational resources, and remind classmates that even small donations and volunteer efforts can meaningfully support families facing serious illness.

ā¢ Beyond the Blackboard (coltchronicle.org) ā Key behind-the-scenes staff keep Kinnelon schools running, from payroll and transportation to special services and curriculum. This feature spotlights payroll supervisor Frank Verducci, head custodian Ryan Carbone, student services supervisor Gregory Zaleski, curriculum director Lauren Thomas, and transportation coordinator Sharon Woodruff, explaining how their daily decisions shape safety, learning, and support for every Kinnelon student and staff member. ā¢ NJEA Hipp Foundation awards $100,954 in new grants (njea.org) ā Kinnelon schools are getting a boost through a $5,000 Hipp Foundation continuation grant for the āCamp Calm Revamped and Rechargedā project, awarded via the Kinnelon Education Association. The statewide program is funding 17 innovative educator projects for 2026ā27, bringing more than $100,000 in fresh ideas to New Jersey classrooms, including this wellnessāfocused initiative that will directly benefit Kinnelon students.
