Firefighters Rescue Deer That Fell Through Ice In Shrewsbury River
The deer was spotted struggling in the water off Pocano Avenue in Oceanport. It had fallen through the ice on the river.
OCEANPORT, NJ — On Tuesday, the Oceanport Fire Department rescued a deer that had fallen through the ice in the Shrewsbury River.
The deer was spotted struggling in the water off Pocano Avenue.
"With the quick response and teamwork of the Oceanport Fire Department, Sea Bright Fire Department, Little Silver Fire Department, the Oceanport Police Department and the Oceanport First Aid Squad, crews worked hand in hand to safely rescue the deer and bring it back to shore," said the Port-Au-Peck Chemical Hose Volunteer Fire Company in a Facebook post.
