2026 Voting Reminders For Livingston Residents: Town Clerk's Office Shares Info

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Township Clerk’s Office is offering some helpful reminders for residents who plan on voting in the 2026 general election.

Livingston residents have plenty of choices to make this year, including races for town council and the board of education. Voters will also cast ballots for several U.S. Congress seats and county-level offices in the midterm election.

Here are some timely reminders for Livingston voters, according to the clerk’s office:

The Township of Livingston’s Clerk’s Office reminds residents that Tuesday, Oct. 13 is the last day to register to vote in the 2026 general election, which will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Voters can register online at vote.nj.gov one of two ways:

  • Current and valid driver’s License or a non-driver identification card (ID card) issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). Your information will be provided to the MVC to validate identification, and to retrieve a copy of your digitized signature.
  • Social Security number: To use your social security number, you must have the ability to sign on-screen or upload your signature to complete the registration process. If you are unable to provide a digital signature, you cannot register online.

Alternately, registration application forms are available online here or at the Township of Livingston’s Clerk’s Office located on the first floor of Livingston Town Hall, 357 South Livingston Avenue, during regular business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

To register in New Jersey, you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 17 years old, although you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18
  • A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
  • A person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States
