Zydeco and Cajun blues blend vintage New Orleans rock &amp; roll into a spicy gumbo of irresistible Louisiana dance music. Their performance features the classic zydeco sound of accordion and frattoir (rubboard) augmented by saxophone, electric guitar, electric bass, and drums with lyrics sung in English, Spanish, Cajun, and Creole French.

In the “8 Principles of Healthy Homes” presentation, Matthew R. Manthey educates communities on how health and wellness inside the home translates into health and wellness for the individuals and families occupying the home. He brings his professional value to the table by providing tips and strategies on making one’s home the best possible place to live.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Matthew Manthey is an&nbsp; Environmental Specialist, program coordinator, educator, and state-licensed New Jersey Lead Inspector-Risk Assessor. He has over 11+ years in the industrial hygiene industry with a specialization in lead. In the last 6 1/2 years, Matthew has been in public health helping families while focusing on childhood lead poisoning prevention.
Matthew currently serves as the Central New Jersey Lead &amp; Healthy Homes Coalition Coordinator for the six (6) counties of Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Somerset Counties. He uses his technical expertise, networking skills, Spanish language fluency, and experience to educate, energize, and inspire communities and coalition program partners on dealing with complex issues of lead. Matthew also currently serves as a case management field inspector in the childhood lead program at Monmouth County Department of Health in Freehold, NJ to fight the good fight against lead poisoning in New Jersey.

A Conversation with Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin

Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin’s son, Hersh, was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023. Subsequently, the couple, who are dual American-Israeli citizens, became full-time hostage advocates. They spoke worldwide about Hersh's abduction and fought passionately for all of the hostages to be freed. Almost a year after being stolen, on day 330, the IDF announced that Hersh had been murdered by Hama. Despite the devastating loss of their son, Rachel and Jon remained steadfast in their quest for the freedom of every hostage held by Hamas. Rachel and Jon will be at Marlboro Jewish Center on April 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Brookdale’s 2026 Scholarship Bash
The Brookdale Community College Foundation invites the community to A Night with the Stars: Where Futures Shine on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Branches in West Long Branch. The evening will bring together friends and champions of Brookdale to celebrate generosity and invest in the success of students across our community.
Brookdale is the #1 community college in New Jersey and ranks in the top 10% of community colleges nationally. Its Cyber Defense and Nursing programs are designated Centers of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National League for Nursing. With 130 nurses graduating annually, many of us, or our loved ones, will benefit from their care at some point. Yet more than 50% of Brookdale students rely on financial aid.
“We hope the community will join us for a wonderful evening that celebrates Brookdale students and helps ensure their futures continue to shine,” said 2026 Scholarship Bash Co-Chairs Carol Stillwell, Candy Langan-Sattenspiel, and Tracey Abby-White.
Guests will enjoy an elegant evening featuring dinner, dancing, an open bar, and both live and silent auctions, all in celebration of the bright futures made possible through scholarship support. Proceeds from the evening directly fund scholarships that remove financial barriers and help more Brookdale students pursue and complete their academic goals.
