Fraud, Assault, Harassment: Manalapan Police Blotter

Manalapan Police reported five incidents of fraud from Dec. 31 through Jan. 4.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, assault, harassment and more from Dec. 31 through Jan. 4.

Dec. 31
An 85-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone fraudulently withdrew money from their bank account.

The total amount of monetary loss experienced by the victim is $6,725.71. The report is pending further investigation.

Jan. 1
A 54-year-old Old Bridge resident reported that their 83-year-old parent, who lives in a senior living facility in Manalapan, was struck in the face by an employee. The reporting party provided video of the assault, and upon viewing the video and identifying the employee, a complaint summons was signed and mailed to the employee, with a future court appearance date.

A 30-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone intercepted an outgoing mailed check and deposited the check in an unknown Kay Bank location under a fraudulent name, causing a total valued loss of $2,846.54 to the victim. The report is pending future investigation.

Jan. 2
A 53-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving threatening text messages from an unknown number.

A 46-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their credit card was fraudulently used to purchase food at a restaurant in Monroe on two different occasions. The total loss was reported to be $68.16.

A 24-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they received threatening text messages from an unknown number.

Jan. 3
A 50-year-old Manalapan resident reported that during the overnight hours, an unknown person threw eggs onto their home and vehicle.

A 54-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were defrauded out of approximately $4,910 after receiving a phone call from someone posing as a Santander Bank representative.

Two unidentified people shoplifted approximately $734 from a Manalapan business, which is pending further investigation.

Jan. 4
A 31-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a Verizon account had been activated in their name. The resident reported that this account was never approved by them and that they are at no monetary loss at this time.

A 67-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they are being harassed by a neighbor.
