Fraud, Theft, Tresspassing: Manalapan Police Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, theft, trespassing and more from July 22 through July 28.

July 22

At 10:30 p.m., patrols responded to a storage facility on Wilson Ave for a report of a holdup alarm activation. Patrols located and arrested a Neptune Township resident for trespassing, burglary, and three active warrants for his arrest. The man was processed and transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

July 23

A 71-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unidentified actor(s) had fraudulently charged the victim’s credit card in an attempt to purchase various items, but were unsuccessful.

July 24

A 71-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unidentified actor(s) had fraudulently charged the victim’s credit card totaling $2,845.99. This case is pending further investigation.

A 79-year-old Manalapan resident alleged that, without permission, an employee of the assisted living facility the victim lives at contacted the Social Security Administration and arranged to have benefits diverted directly to the assisted living facility. The case is pending further investigation.

July 25

A 27-year-old Manalapan resident advised that on this date one of their employees had delivered an excavator valued at $26,990 and that they were provided with a fraudulent bank check. This case is pending further investigation.

At 3:39 p.m., Patrol Officer Gia Pedone responded to a retail store located on Route 9 in Manalapan for a report of shoplifting. The store manager reported that an unknown male removed a scooter without paying. The scooter is valued at approximately $599.99. The incident is pending further investigation.

July 27

At 7:37 p.m., Patrolman Alexander Boyce responded to a home in Manalapan in reference to a report of fraud. Upon arrival, the victim was identified as a 72-year-old Manalapan resident. It was reported that unknown actor(s) fraudulently charged $299.99 to one of the victim’s personal accounts. The victim was later refunded the money by the vendor.

July 28

At 12:32 p.m., Patrolman Anthony Carcaldi responded to a business on Route 9 South in Manalapan for a report of shoplifting. Unknown actor(s) shoplifted $2,248.47 worth of product from the business. The case is pending further investigation.
