Woman, 72, Hit And Killed On Route 9 In Manalapan
The driver stayed at the scene of the crash, the prosecutor's office said.
MANALAPAN, NJ — A 72-year-old woman died Tuesday night when she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Route 9 in Manalapan, authorities said Friday.
Deborah Ross of Manalapan was hit shortly before 11 p.m. on Route 9 south in the area of 355 Route 9 and Russell Court, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.
The preliminary investigation found a man in a 2018 Nissan Frontier was driving south on Route 9 in the left lane when he hit Ross, the prosecutor's office said.

The impact threw her onto the right shoulder of the road, authorities said, where she was pronounced dead at 11:26 p.m.
The driver stayed at the scene, authorities said. No charges or summonses have been issued, the prosecutor's office said.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Manalapan Police Department are investigating.
