Memorial Day Parade Plans In Manchester: See How To Participate

Manchester children are invited to decorate bicycles and ride in the parade, and groups are invited to march.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25.

The parade will step off at 10 a.m. and wind up at the Grand Army Memorial on Oakdale Street at Wellington Avenue in Pine Lake Park, and will be followed by remarks about the day by guest speakers.

Parade participants will gather at the intersection of Commonwealth Boulevard and Southampton Boulevard at 9:15 a.m. Groups are invited to march in the parade.

Manchester children also are again invited to decorate their bicycles with patriotic decorations and take part in the parade. Prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated bicycles. All children who participate are required to wear a proper bicycle helmet.

Street parking for the free event is available on roads near the Memorial except for Oakdale.

The township also welcomes all to place wreaths or flowers at the memorial. Any group that would like to place a wreath at the Memorial should call the Department of Recreation at 732-657-8121, ext. 5102 to register.
