• School placed in lockdown after threatening calls in Middlesex (newportdispatch.com) — Middlesex High School briefly went into lockdown Wednesday after a staff member received threatening phone calls, prompting an immediate response from Middlesex Borough Police and school security officers. Investigators later determined there was no active threat, lifted the lockdown, and are now asking anyone with information about the caller to contact Detective Paul Muldowney.

• Manville outlasts Middlesex in small-school slugfest, 28-20, behind 2 TD passes from Gosk (cjsportsradio.com) — Middlesex High's Blue Jays fell 28–20 to Manville in a hard-fought game Thursday night but showed major improvement with standout runs from Brian Cilento and Jo Jo Pham. Now 1–5, Middlesex closes the regular season with winnable matchups at Bound Brook and then home against JP Stevens on Cutoff Weekend.
