County Will Spray For Mosquitoes In Belford, Port Monmouth Thursday Morning

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Monmouth County Office of Mosquito Control will spray between 4-6 a.m. Thursday in the Port Monmouth and Belford sections of Middletown.

The county is doing this because mosquitoes in that area tested positive for West Nile virus.

Areas that will be sprayed include residential streets east of Wilson Avenue, north of the Henry Hudson Trail and west of Ware Creek.

The county will apply Duet using Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayers mounted in the bed of a pick-up truck.

A map of the areas to be treated and a fact sheet will be posted on visitimonmouth.com/mosquito under mosquito schedule and maps.

West Nile virus activity typically peaks from mid-July through September. Don't keep standing water on your property to deter mosquitoes.
