Voter Guide For June 2 Middletown Primary Election
School board member Mark Soporowski is trying to upset the two establishment Republican candidates for Middletown Township Committee.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Next Tuesday, June 2 is primary election day in New Jersey. In Middletown, three Republicans are running for two seats.
They are:
- Current committeeman Ryan Clarke: Endorsed by the Middletown Republican Party and the Monmouth County Republican Organization. Clarke has been on the Middletown Twp. Committee for the past five years and he's an ally of Mayor Tony Perry. He was also chief for five years of the Middletown volunteer Fire Department. - His running mate Morganne Dudzinski: Endorsed by the Middletown Republican Party and the Monmouth County Republican Organization. Dudzinski used to work as the director of constituent affairs for former state Sen. Jen Beck, a Republican lawmaker who represented Monmouth County in the Statehouse from 2012 to 2018. (State Sen. Vin Gopal beat her 2017 and now holds that seat.) She is currently a commissioner on the Middletown Housing Authority and is a government affairs community advisor for 180 Turning Lives Around, the local non-profit that helps women fleeing domestic violence. - Mark Soporowski: Middletown First Republican. The independent Republican candidate for Middletown Twp. Committee. He currently sits on the Middletown school board; he was elected to the board last year. He was against school closings last year and again this year. Voters will be asked to choose two of those three Republicans to run for Township Committee in the general election in November.

Registered Democrat voters in Middletown will be asked to choose two Democrats:
Shawn Wallach: Ran unsuccessfully for Twp. Committee last year.
