Police Respond To Suspicious Package In South Jersey: Authorities

A McDonald's restaurant is right beside the shopping center.

WILLINGBORO, NJ — A large police presence was active on Friday after a report of a suspicious package that was later declared non-hazardous, the Willingboro Township Police Department said.

At around 8 a.m., officers responded to 609 Beverly Rancocas Rd. and saw the item in question.

Out of an abundance of caution, the area was secured and the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad was called in.

Both residents and others were asked to avoid the area.

The item was declared to be no threat to the community, and the scene was cleared at around 10:30 a.m., according to authorities.
