4 Sick Bald Eagles, Found In The Same Area, Under Care In Morris County

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The Raptor Trust in Morris County has taken in four new bald eagles after caring for one 18-year-old over the last several months.

Last week, the Long Hill Township-based bird rehabilitation center took in four bald eagles that were found grounded in the same area in Warren County.

Experts have sent blood tests to the lab in an attempt to diagnose the birds, but symptoms indicate some kind of acute toxicity, representatives said.

“For now, we are providing supportive care and trying to keep the birds stable,” a social media post read. “While there has been some improvement in their condition, they are still in guarded condition while we wait for more information.”

Officials said the incident has been reported to both state and federal wildlife law enforcement for review and investigation.

The announcement of the new patients came when an 18-year-old bald eagle that the Raptor Trust had been rehabilitating since February died.

The Raptor Trust is a nonprofit organization that has been rehabilitating birds of prey since 1983. The establishment also offers educational programs and tours.
