When the stool pigeon sings like a canary, Jaybird! gets a bum raptor for robin and fowl play, so on a lark, they use a crowbar to duck out of prison. After finding the bighouse band guilty of domestic violins, Penelope blows the whistle on deviant dancers convicted of carrying a concealed Capezio, breaking and entering the top of the set, petticoat larceny, grand chain theft, and failure to launder their money and dance clothes. Round up your dance partner in crime for some jailhouse rock.
PENELOPE WEINBERGER
Hailing from the DC area, Penelope Weinberger has been calling and organizing dances for over 20 years and is welcomed around the country for her clear and convivial calling. MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Pioneer Productions is delighted to announce its upcoming production of Rumors, Neil Simon's celebrated comedy of confusion, deception, and nonstop laughs. Join Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s F.M. Kirby Curator of Collections Ryan Hyman for a special behind-the-scenes tour of MHHM’s newest exhibition, Thomas Nast’s American Hero: Ulysses S. Grant.
Ulysses S. Grant (1822–1885) was a Civil War hero for the Union and the eighteenth president of the United States, serving from 1869–1877. Political cartoonist Thomas Nast (1840–1902) was both a supporter and, later, a personal friend of Grant. MHHM’s latest exhibition, on view in the Nast Gallery and Schoolroom Gallery, explores Grant’s career through historic artifacts and Nast’s compelling images.
This special tour offers a unique opportunity to look beyond the finished exhibition and discover the stories, objects, and curatorial decisions that brought it to life. Blending history with a behind-the-scenes look at the exhibition process, attendees will learn insights you won’t get from simply walking through the galleries.
