Morris County 5K Race for Recovery Set for July 4 In Central Park
The annual fundraiser in Parsippany-Troy Hills will support Market Street Mission programs across New Jersey.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County residents and visitors can mark July 4 with a race and walk that supports recovery, shelter and meal programs across New Jersey.
The annual Market Street Mission 5K Race for Recovery 4th of July is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Central Park of Morris County, 1 Governor Chris Christie Drive, according to the event listing.
The event includes a 5K race at 9 a.m., a 2 Mile Freedom Walk at 9:10 a.m., and a Kids Fun Run at 9:45 a.m. The listing says the free Kids Fun Run without a shirt option is open to children ages 10 and under. A virtual 5K is also available and remains open through July 4.

Organizers wrote, “Join us for the annual Market Street Mission 5K Race for Recovery 4th of July! We are excited to see you at Central Park of Morris County on July 4!” According to the event page, proceeds from the fundraiser will support programs run by Market Street Mission, a Morristown-based nonprofit.
"Proceeds from the event will support the programs of the Market Street Mission, a non-profit organization providing hope and healing to those struggling with hunger, homelessness, and addiction throughout New Jersey,” adding, “To show your support for those who are striving for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and help provide the necessary programs and resources - like free meals, overnight shelter, and a long-term residential recovery program - for those in need in the community.”

Market Street Mission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and “provides all our services free of charge to those in need.” The listing also states, “We are not subsidized by government funding.”
Registration prices listed on the event page include $30 for the 5K Race and $30 for the 2 Mile Freedom Walk after a strikethrough price of $40. The Kids Fun Run is listed at $8 after a strikethrough price of $10, while the no-shirt kids option is free. The VIP 5K Package is listed at $100.
The event page says the 5K and 2-mile walk prices increase after June 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Registration for the VIP package ends July 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EDT, and the no-shirt kids option closes July 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. EDT.
