Pair Destroys Parking Safety Devices In Morristown, Officials Say
Authorities are asking the public for help to identify the alleged vandal.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown police are asking the public for help in identifying a pair of people who are accused of destroying parking safety equipment.
Early Saturday morning, a Morristown police officer found that two "safety sticks" had been destroyed on South Street.
The safety sticks are part of the town and Municipal Parking Services' initiative to "enhance safety for pedestrians and motorists following ongoing complaints." They are essentially solar panel-powered cameras to monitor no-parking zones.

Review of surveillance footage shows a couple walking together on South Street around 11:20 p.m. the night before, when the man appeared to "forcibly dislodge the Safety Sticks, rendering them inoperable," officials said.
