MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A threat towards a Morris County middle school prompted a shelter-in-place on Friday, according to officials.

School representatives said that students were "visibly upset and concerned" by the threat.

Dover Police announced that the person involved with the threat has been identified, and that there is no longer a known threat to students or staff of Dover Middle School, nor the general public.

The shelter-in-place has since been lifted, and school administrators visited classrooms throughout the building to "speak directly with students, address their concerns, and reassure them that they were in a safe and supportive environment," according to Superintendent Luis A. Jaime.
