Lawsuit Accuses Companies Of Abusing, Threatening Workers In NJ City: Report

A lawsuit claims that hundreds of workers were abused and harassed – then threatened with deportation when they spoke up.

NEWARK, NJ — A class action lawsuit is alleging that hundreds of workers at a large company in Newark were abused by supervisors, threatened with deportation for speaking up, and abruptly laid off shortly before new state job protections took effect.

The lawsuit names meal kit company HelloFresh and three other businesses – Action Staffing Group, On Target Staffing LLC, and ProStaff Solutions Inc. – which supplied temporary workers to the facility, News 12 New Jersey reported Wednesday.

The lawsuit was filed in August 2024. A state judge is scheduled to review the amended complaint this week.
