His tenure has focused on tying the arts center more deeply to Newark's neighborhoods, expanding programming, and helping spark new downtown housing and community spaces that residents will soon see take shape.

West Orange Daily Buzz: Sep. 3, 2026 (jerseybee.org) — Newark residents can volunteer at the Urban League's literacy fair at the Newark Public Library on Sept. 12 and apply for bilingual tax administrator jobs based in the city. The roundup also highlights a federal court ruling involving Rep. LaMonica McIver's charges tied to a protest outside Newark's Delaney Hall, plus nearby cultural events, workshops, and health services across Essex County communities.
   

5. The impact of the Meta settlement on New Jersey and an update on Congresswoman LaMonica McIver's federal case (wbgo.org) — Newark residents will soon hear directly from City Council President LaMonica McIver in a new monthly WBGO Journal segment, "Inside Newark," offering updates from City Hall.
