Missing North Jersey Girl, 14, May Have Gone To New York: Police (patch.com) — Newark officials are urgently asking residents to help locate 14-year-old Remy Bynum, who was last seen early Saturday and is known to frequent several fast food spots around Bergen Street, West Market Street, Jones Street, Springfield Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue. Police say she may have traveled to New York and are encouraging anyone with information to call the city's 24-hour Crime Stoppers tip line or submit an anonymous tip online.

2. This New Trash-Hunting Boat Is Patrolling The Passaic River In North Jersey (patch.com) — A new 48-foot "trash hunter" boat is now skimming debris from the lower Passaic River around the Newark area, helping keep local waterways cleaner without using tax dollars. Operated by the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, the maneuverable vessel can haul up to 5,000 pounds of garbage and reach tighter spots that larger boats can't access, supporting ongoing efforts to restore the river near Newark.

Teenage Victim Killed In Newark Shooting, Police Investigation Continues (patch.com) — Newark residents are reeling after 18-year-old city resident Naim Brewer was fatally shot Monday night on the 700 block of Broad Street, despite recent progress in reducing homicides. Police and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating and urging anyone with information to contact the county tips line as the community seeks answers.

Man who led hunger strike at New Jersey ICE detention facility released from custody (nj.com subscription) — A man who led a hunger strike at Newark's Delaney Hall immigration detention center has been released from ICE custody after eight months, following a change in his immigration status. His wife, who previously protested outside the Newark facility, says the family lost their home and a child during his detention but feels strengthened to keep fighting for their reunification.
