Rutgers Student Sexually Assaulted In Her Dorm Room, Police Say

A Rutgers student was sexually assaulted inside a dorm room in the early morning hours of Saturday, said Rutgers University Police.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Rutgers student was sexually assaulted inside a dorm room in the early morning hours of Saturday, said Rutgers University Police.

This happened inside a residence hall in Piscataway.

The victim, who is affiliated with Rutgers University, reported that she was assaulted by an intimate partner in her dorm room. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at an area hospital.

The perpetrator, who is not affiliated with Rutgers University, is known, and charges were filed. That person is not currently in police custody.

The Rutgers University Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the RUPD’s Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
