Someone Pulls Gun In Street Racing Meet-Up On Rutgers Campus, Police Say
A young man pulled out a gun during an unsanctioned car meet-up in a Rutgers lot last Friday.
PISCATAWAY, NJ — Car meet-ups and illegal street racing are happening more and more frequently across New Jersey.
And a car meet-up happened last Friday night, Feb. 20, in a parking lot on the Rutgers Piscataway campus, where police say someone pulled out a gun.
Nobody was shot, but this happened at 8:15 p.m. in the Yellow Lot at 84 Rockefeller Road in Piscataway. People — none of whom attend Rutgers — told police that during an unsanctioned car meet-up in the lot a young man pulled a gun from the trunk of a tan Toyota Camry and pointed it at the group.

The gun was not discharged and the Toyota Camry subsequently fled the area, along with a white Nissan 370, toward Road 3 away from campus.
A description of the man who pulled the gun is limited. Rutgers Police increased patrols in that area and requests that anyone with information, or who may have been there, contact their Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
