Cape May Named One Of Hallmark's Official Christmas Towns
The shore town was recognized after Hallmark's Merriest Christmas Towns contest drew public voting this summer.

CAPE MAY, NJ — Cape May has been named one of Hallmark's 25 official Christmas towns, according to the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May.
The recognition follows Hallmark's “Merriest Christmas Towns Contest,” which ran this past summer and invited towns to submit entries while the public voted for a favorite town.
After voting ended, the grand prize winner was chosen by a panel of judges based on neighborhood charm, community spirit, holiday traditions and goodwill, according to the announcement. Carlinville, Illinois, was selected as Hallmark's Merriest Christmas Town for 2026.

In material attributed to Hallmark, the company described Cape May as “Nestled at the southern tip of New Jersey, Cape May is a timeless seaside destination where history, natural beauty, and coastal charm come together.”
Hallmark also pointed to the city's “beautifully preserved Victorian architecture, pristine beaches, award-winning restaurants, unique shops, and welcoming atmosphere,” saying the town offers something special in every season.
The Hallmark description also highlighted local attractions including the Washington Street Mall, historic landmarks, outdoor recreation, and festivals and events held throughout the year.
During the holiday season, Hallmark said Cape May “truly comes alive,” describing the resort as a place that “feels like a living Christmas card.”
