• Ferris wheel to be demolished ‣ Ocean City Sentinel (ocnjsentinel.com) — Wonderland Pier's iconic Ferris wheel in Ocean City is slated for demolition after engineers warned the deteriorating structure and collapsing retaining wall pose growing safety risks. Owner Eustace Mita is negotiating privately with City Council over future development at 600 Boardwalk, as lawsuits and community debate continue over what should replace the long-closed amusement park.
   

• Walcott to receive Carnegie Medal for saving family ‣ Ocean City Sentinel (ocnjsentinel.com) — An Upper Township attorney who rescued a family from drowning off an Ocean City beach will receive the prestigious Carnegie Medal for Heroism. He describes the 2024 rip current rescue, his reluctance to seek recognition, and how his family and local Rotary honors pushed him to accept the national award.
