1. ‘The Need Is Tremendous': Plainfield Diaper Pantry Serves 50 Families a Week (tapinto.net) — Families in Plainfield who need diapers and baby supplies can visit The Salvation Army’s Plainfield diaper pantry, which serves about 50 families each week and over 200 a month. The pantry operates every Thursday at 615 Watchung Avenue and welcomes donations of diapers, wipes, hygiene items, and baby food to keep up with the growing demand in the Plainfield area.

Plainfield halts NJ Transit bid to redevelop Netherwood train station (mycentraljersey.com) — Plainfield’s City Council has blocked a proposal to study redeveloping the Netherwood train station area, halting NJ Transit’s push for a parking deck, new housing, and a restaurant at the historic site. City officials say the project could preserve the station’s character while adding mixed-use development, but a split council vote stopped the planning review for now.

Woman sues Dunkin' over coffee burns at N.J. drive-thru (nj.com subscription) — A Florida woman is suing the Dunkin’ on Clinton Avenue in Plainfield, alleging she suffered serious burns when hot coffee spilled in her lap at the drive-thru in April 2025. The lawsuit, filed in New Jersey Superior Court, claims workers were negligent in how they handled the drinks and seeks monetary damages and records of past injury claims at the Plainfield location.
   

5. Obituary: Holly Ann Campbell, 57, Bardstown (nelsoncountygazette.com) — A woman born in Plainfield is being remembered after her passing at age 57 while vacationing in Aruba. Now living in Bardstown, she worked as a registered nurse, was active in her church community, and leaves behind family, friends, and pets who will honor her at services scheduled for September 25.
