• Ocean County Open Space Tax Increase Heads To November Ballot (jerseyshoreonline.com) — Ocean County officials are asking voters this November to approve an increase in the county’s open space tax, which directly funds land preservation projects including a new 128-acre acquisition on Long Swamp Road in Plumsted. The proposal would raise the tax from 1.2 to 2.2 cents per $100 of assessed value, with an online calculator helping homeowners estimate the impact while officials argue it protects water, forests, farms, and local habitats.
