Pop-Up Party Canceled After Point Pleasant Beach Threatens Arrests
The organizer of the party that had been planned for May 30 is warning people to stay away or risk being arrested.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — A pop-up party that had been planned for May 30 in Point Pleasant Beach has been canceled after the borough served the organizers with cease-and-desist documents on Thursday, the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department said.
A flyer circulating on social media from the Instagram account Funcnati0n had been urging people to come to the borough and bring drinks and food for a party on the beach.
The organizers have since taken the flyer down and replaced it with a post telling followers to stay away.

The police department said that while the promoters took down the flyer, there are some people who could still come to the borough.
"Even though the promoter(s) indicate they are complying, the Police Department will be fully prepared should unruly crowds choose to ignore the notice. Rest assured any and all unruly visitors will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," the police department said.
The Funcnati0n update included a note that said the group will not be organizing any future events in the borough and warning that consuming alcohol and using marijuana or tobacco on the beach, boardwalk and surrounding area is illegal.
"Whoever shows up will be left in cuffs!" one person commented on the updated post. "Disregard all information on the flyer!"
Pop-up parties that had been promoted in Wildwood for Memorial Day weekend also have been halted, authorities in that borough said.
