Carbon Monoxide Leak Kills 2 In Bergen County, Police Say
Two people in their 80s were found dead as a result of a running car in their home, according to police.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Two Bergen County residents were found dead in their home this weekend after a suspected carbon monoxide leak, according to police.
On Saturday, Montvale police and fire department officers conducted a welfare check at a house along 2 Lexington Lane at around 9:30 p.m., officials said.
Authorities found high levels of carbon monoxide in the home, as well as two dead people, an 84-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman, according to police.

Police say the source of the carbon monoxide was a running vehicle inside the garage. Officials added that no foul play is suspected at this time, and that the incident "appears to be accidental."
