Bergen County Man Distributed Child Sex Abuse Images, Prosecutors Say

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — A Hasbrouck Heights man was charged with distributing child sex abuse photos after detectives searched his home on Thursday, officials said.

Mario H. Kaldas, 25, was charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.

Prosecutors said that members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit searched Kaldas' home as part of an internet child sexual abuse material investigation.

Detectives determined that Kaldas "used the internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit pubescent and prepubescent children," prosecutors said.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
