PALISADES PARK, NJ —A Palisades Park man was arrested Tuesday night after he hit parked cars with his Camaro, aimed the car at a police vehicle, then crashed on Route 46, police say.

Wilmer J. Gamezsuchite, 21, was charged with one count of eluding, said Police Chief George Beck.

Police said that on Tuesday, shortly after 9 p.m., Officers Christian Sisco, Marc Larrea, and Jasper Chau responded to the area of 10th Street and East Palisades Boulevard after a vehicle struck parked cars and left.

He parked his patrol car in front of the Camaro and approached the driver, who then accelerated toward him and fled, police said.

Afterward, police found out that Gamezsuchite had crashed on Route 46 in Fort Lee, near Main Street.

Occupants of the car were seeing running away, police said.

Gamezsuchite was arrested in Leonia near Cumley Terrace, police said.

He was released to await an appearance in Bergen County Superior Court on Nov. 2, police said.

“The decisive actions taken by our officers—bolstered by our strong neighboring partnerships with Fort Lee and Leonia—ensured that a reckless individual was taken off our streets swiftly and safely," Beck said.
