Man Throws Knife, Hits Victim At American Dream Mall, State Police Say

A man threw a knife that struck a victim at a North Jersey mall, police said.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — A man was arrested at the American Dream complex on Friday night after throwing a knife that struck a victim, police said.

Jonathan Moore, 36, of Orange was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and terroristic threats, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron of the New Jersey State Police.

Lebron said that at 9:11 p.m. Friday, troopers responded to the entertainment/retail complex in East Rutherford based on a report of an assault.

Investigators determined that during an argument, Moore threw a pocketknife at a victim, who suffered minor injuries.

Moore was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a detention hearing, Lebron said.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is being released, Lebron said.
