Man Sexually Assaulted Child In Cliffwood Park, Prosecutors Say
A man sexually assaulted a minor in Bergen County on more than one occasion, prosecutors said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 24-year-old Fairview man was arrested last week for sexually assaulting and endangering a child, prosecutors said.
Gerson I. Canil Garcia, 24 was arrested last Tuesday, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's office.
The Cliffside Park Police Department had contacted the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on June 27 about an alleged sexual assault of a minor that had occurred in the past, officials said.

Prosecutors and police investigated and determined that Garcia sexually assaulted the child in Cliffside Park on more than one occasion.
He was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a detention hearing, prosecutors said.
