Ridgewood Council Advances Effort To Streamline Recreation and Facility Use (tapinto.net) — Ridgewood's Village Council has given initial approval to three ordinances that would overhaul how residents book and pay for village recreation facilities, fields, park pavilions, and meeting rooms. The proposals aim to simplify fees and applications, fold Lester Stable into a unified system, and pave the way for public use of the historic Zabriskie-Schedler house, with a final vote set for September 9, 2026.
   

2. Ridgewood Advances Ordinance Restricting All-Terrain Vehicles (tapinto.net) — Ridgewood officials are moving forward with an ordinance that would sharply restrict ATVs, dirt bikes, and motorized sports bikes on village streets, sidewalks, and municipal property, with fines and possible vehicle forfeiture. The measure heads to a September 2 public hearing, and residents are urged to understand the proposed rules before buying these vehicles, alongside new statewide e-bike licensing and registration requirements.
   

3. Ridgewood Teen's 4-Year Record of Eclectic Interviews Taught Him 'You Can Outwork Anyone' (tapinto.net) — A Ridgewood teen, George Peyrouton, has spent four years building a remarkable interview series with veterans, academics, entrepreneurs, and other standout guests, totaling about 135 conversations. Starting at 15 by waking up at 4 a.m. to interview a favorite YouTuber, he says the project taught him that with enough effort, "you can outwork anyone."
   

4. Want to live in one of NJ's wealthiest suburbs? It'll cost you (northjersey.com) — Ridgewood ranks among the nation's wealthiest suburbs, with typical home values around $1.24 million and rising about 8% in a year. A new MoneyLion analysis using Zillow data compares Ridgewood's prices with other pricey New Jersey communities like Westfield, Summit, Tenafly and Princeton.
   

5. Scottie Scheffler dominates in winning the Fedex St. Jude Championship (thesportingbase.com) — World number one golfer Scottie Scheffler, identified as being from Ridgewood dominated the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis with a 17-under finish and an eight-shot victory. His four steady rounds, including an 11-birdie 61, match the most dominant win of his PGA career and further cement his lead atop the world rankings.
