• Chip City Shutters Ridgewood Location as Company Closes All Stores (boozyburbs.com) — A well-known cookie shop at 305 East Ridgewood Avenue has suddenly closed as Chip City shuts down all of its locations nationwide, ending its short run in the village. Ridgewood customers who loved the oversized, rotating-flavor cookies will now have to look elsewhere, as the company cites tough economic conditions for the chain-wide shutdown.

• Scotch Plains-Fanwood Student Performs at Monterey Jazz Festival With JAZZ HOUSE Big Band (TAPinto.net) — A regional youth jazz band that includes students from Ridgewood recently performed at the prestigious Monterey Jazz Festival in California, giving local young musicians a chance to shine on a national stage. The JAZZ HOUSE Big Band, part of Montclair-based JAZZ HOUSE KiDS, played two festival sets and continues to build its reputation through national competitions and international tours.
