Pedestrian Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Bergen County: Prosecutors
A pedestrian was fatally struck at a Bergen County intersection on Friday, prosecutors said.
HACKENSACK, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Hackensack on Friday, officials said.
Police responded to the intersection of Essex Street and Summit Avenue around 12:49 a.m., said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Police found a man with serious injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle, prosecutors said. The vehicle had left.

The man was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center and pronounced dead soon afterward, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors were still investigating and no further information was available Friday morning, they said.

Hackensack police posted a message on social media around 7 a.m. on Friday advising drivers to avoid the area of Essex Street and Summit Avenue due to an investigation.
