Secaucus Man Sold Cocaine, Other Drugs Out Of 3rd Street Home, Police Say

SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus Police announced Saturday that men and women from Secaucus, Garfield, Hasbrouck Heights and West New York were arrested in a drug-sale operation SPD had been investigating.

Last August, the Secaucus Police Department received information that Anmol Singh, 35, of Secaucus, was distributing cocaine from his home on 3rd Street in town, said police.

Secaucus Police set up a surveillance of Singh and observed him actively engaging in illegal cocaine sales. Police say Singh sold the cocaine out of his 3rd Street home and a home on Orchard Street in Garfield, which belonged to a female friend of his, Olivia Tworek, 27.

At 7:50 p.m. last Thursday, Secaucus Police detectives say they observed Singh engage in a drug sale on North End Drive in Secaucus, where he sold drugs to Danielle Josephs, 44, of Hasbrouck Heights.

Detectives stopped the woman and searched her, and she was found in possession of cocaine and Xanax and placed under arrest.

Shortly thereafter, Secaucus Police, plus police canine Brix, and Garfield Police detectives, stopped Singh’s Honda CRV on Franklin Street.

West New York resident Amir Abi-Rafeh, 29, was driving and Singh and Tworek were passengers. At the time of the stop, Singh was found in possession of Xanax and Tworek was found in possession of cocaine.

Both were arrested.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Brix indicated that narcotics were present in the car. A search of the Honda CRV was done and a 9mm Taurus handgun, multiple high-capacity magazines, 25 9mm hollow-point rounds and 163 full metal jacket rounds were found in the car. The handgun was loaded and had a round in the chamber. The gun was stolen out of North Carolina.

Additionally, in the Honda CRV police also found 50 grams of cocaine, 19 grams of Ketamine, 130 Xanax pills, six oxycodone hydrochloride pills, 41 oxycodone pills, five doses of acid, eight morphine sulfate pills, 38 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, as well as $1,988.62 in U.S. currency, suspected to be drug-sale proceeds.

Detectives then did court-authorized searches of the homes on 3rd Street in Secaucus and Orchard Street in Garfield. Additional cocaine and one 9mm handgun casing were seized from the Garfield residence.

Anmol is charged with eight counts of Possession of CDS [2C:35-10a(1)], four counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-5b(2)], four counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-5b(3)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Subtance within 1,000 feet of a School [2C:35-7a], Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Subtance within 500 feet of a Park [2C:35-7.1], Possession with the Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-3], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7a], Unlawful Possession of a Handgun [2C:39-5b(1)], Possession of a Firearm while Committing a CDS Offense [2C:39-4.1(a)], Possession of High Capacity Magazines [2C:39-3(j)] and Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition [2C:39-3(f)].

Abi-Rafeh is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine [2C:5-2a(1)/2C:35-5b(3)].

Both men were lodged in the Hudson County Jail.

Tworek is charged with Possession of CDS [2C:35-10a(1)].

Josephs is charged with two counts of Possession of CDS [2C:35-10a(1)]. Josephs also had active warrants from Pequannock with a bail amount of $1,000 and Netcong with a bail amount of $500.

Both women released on a summons, pending their appearance in court.
