Secaucus Police Blotter, Sept. 21 - Sept. 27

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

On Sept. 23 at 4:41 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Edison Park Fast at 675 New County Road on a report of a woman who appeared to be intoxicated getting into the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. Police arrested a 33-year-old woman of Ledgewood, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. She was issued two motor vehicle summonses and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On Sept. 23 at 8:41 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 52-year-old woman of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail. She was transported to the Jersey City Police Department.

On Sept. 24 at 6:35 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Secaucus Rec Center at 1200 Koelle Boulevard on a report of an individual trespassing on the property. Police charged a 28-
year-old man, Narayan Iyer of Secaucus, NJ with Defiant Trespassing [2C:18-3B]. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released from police custody.

On Sept. 24 at 7:38 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the area of 350 Clarendon Street on a report of an individual who appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. Police arrested a 44-year-old man of Linden, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. He was issued two motor vehicle summons and released.

On Sept. 24 at 8:53 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 58-year-old Newark man for one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,000. He was unable to post bail and was taken to the Hudson County Jail.

On Sept. 25 at 9:00 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Starbucks at 700 Plaza Drive on a report of a theft. Upon arrival of the police, the individual involved was found to have already left the premises. The individual involved in the theft was subsequently located at the LA Fitness. Police arrested a 28-year-old man, Narayan Iyer of Secaucus, NJ and charged him with Theft [2C:20-3A]. Iyer was issued a summons to appear in court and was released from police custody. In addition to the alleged trespassing at the town Rec Center, Iyer has been arrested before in Secaucus, on March 1, 2026 at the Exxon gas station on Rt. 3. On Sept. 25 at 9:12 a.m., Secaucus Police observed a bicyclist operating a bicycle on the roadway in an unsafe manner. During the bicycle stop, the police arrested Eric Lopez, 39, of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Fairfield, NJ in the amount of $1,250 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Prospect Park, NJ in the amount of $750. Lopez was also charged with Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Both Fairfield and Prospect Park released Lopez on his own recognizance in relation to the outstanding warrants. He was issued a summons to appear in Secaucus town court and was released from police custody.
