Secaucus Town Hospital Celebrates 50 Years With Festival, And A Cocktail Party

The town is helping to put on the festival, held Oct. 4 in the parking lot of Secaucus University Hospital. The cocktail party is Sept. 16.

SECAUCUS, NJ — This fall, Hudson Regional Health will be celebrating a milestone moment for Secaucus: 50 years of Secaucus having a town hospital.

The Secaucus hospital is now owned and operated by Hudson Regional Health and it's now called Secaucus University Hospital.

They will host a community celebration commemorating the 50-year anniversary with a family festival October 4.

The festival will be from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Secaucus University Hospital (55 Meadowlands Parkway). The event will be co-hosted with Mayor Mike Gonnelli, the town Council and town of Secaucus.

Free, and will include family-friendly activities including a bouncy house, carnival games with prizes, face painting, balloon artists, along with food and beverage trucks, music with a DJ and band, as well as a large video feed for NFL football — so nobody has to miss Sunday afternoon football games!

Hudson Regional Health will also provide health and wellness screenings at the event.

Additionally, Hudson Regional Health will hold a 50th anniversary cocktail party to raise funds for the Hudson Regional Health Foundation, the non-profit arm of Hudson Regional Health.

The cocktail party will take place at 5:00 p.m. Sept. 16 at Secaucus University Hospital. Tickets for the cocktail event, with all proceeds allocated to the mission of the Hudson Regional Health Foundation, begin at $50 for Secaucus residents, and can be purchased here.

Hudson Regional will honor three distinguished members of the hospital community:

John Reilly, hospital board member: Member of the Secaucus community and former councilman. Former Secaucus volunteer firefighter who achieved the rank of captain.

Dr. Morris Bellifemine, President of the medical staff at Secaucus University Hospital: A physician with over 40 years of experience in internal medicine and pulmonology

Dr. Jihad Moukdad, Director of internal medicine at Secaucus University Hospital: A physician with over 35 years of experience in internal medicine.
