South Brunswick Police Department Promotes 3 Veteran Officers
A 22-year veteran was named captain. Two other officers, with 12 and 15 years on the job, became sergeants.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Police Department promoted three officers on Thursday, naming one captain and two sergeants.
The promotion ceremony was held Thursday, Oct. 1, in the main meeting room and attended by nearly 100 people. All three officers were praised for their history of leadership and service.
Captain Dennis Yuhasz
Dennis Yuhasz, a 22-year veteran of the department, was promoted to captain. He most recently served as a lieutenant overseeing community policing and school safety.

Earlier in his career, Yuhasz was a lieutenant of patrol, a patrol sergeant, a detective, a field training officer and a firearms instructor. He was also a member of the Emergency Response Team. He has received numerous awards for heroics and valor.
Sergeant Bryan Garrison
Bryan Garrison, a 12-year veteran, was promoted to sergeant. He previously served as a detective.

Garrison has also served on the honor guard and as a field training officer, and he has received several awards during his career. He is a U.S. Marine veteran.
Sergeant Jamal Benbow
Jamal Benbow, a 15-year veteran, was also promoted to sergeant. He previously served as a detective.
Benbow has held several roles, most notably as a squad leader for the Middlesex County Rapid Deployment Team.
