The officer was treated and released from a local hospital, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office is conducting an independent investigation, asking anyone with information to contact their detective.

2. South Brunswick Library To Celebrate Grand Opening Of Expanded Building (patch.com) — South Brunswick residents are invited to celebrate the grand opening of the newly expanded Christopher J. Killmurray Library Building on Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring a ribbon-cutting and family carnival. Car Goes Up In Flames On Rt. 130 South Brunswick, Driver Escapes Unhurt (patch.com) — A car fire on Route 130 north in South Brunswick briefly shut the highway Wednesday afternoon, but the driver escaped without injuries. Police and the Monmouth Junction Fire Department quickly responded near Deans Rhode Hall Road, extinguished the blaze, and reopened the road after about 20 minutes, minimizing disruption for local drivers.
