South Brunswick, 7 Towns To Team Up On Regional Watershed Plan, Meeting July 14

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Residents across the Lower Millstone Watershed are invited to weigh in on a new regional water management plan at a public meeting set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Montgomery Township Municipal Building.

Montgomery Township received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to develop a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency nine-element watershed management plan for the Lower Millstone Watershed.

The township is working with several neighboring municipalities on the plan, including Franklin, South Brunswick, Princeton, Hopewell Township, Hopewell Borough, Manville and Rocky Hill.

The group is partnering with the Watershed Institute to develop the plan.

The meeting will be held in the municipal building's council chambers and streamed via Zoom for residents who can't attend in person. The public is invited to attend to learn more about watershed management planning and to share information about local flooding, water pollution, stream erosion and failing stormwater basins.

Following the meeting, a survey will be conducted for three weeks to continue collecting that information from residents.
