Multiple Roads Closed In Summit After Storm

Police say several streets are closed while crews work to clear debris and restore safe travel across the city.

SUMMIT, NJ — Multiple roads in Summit are closed on Monday after downed trees and wires were reported across the city, according to the Summit Police Department.

Officials are asking residents to avoid unnecessary travel while crews continue working to clear roadways and make repairs.

Police said both hard closures and soft closures are in place.

A hard closure means the road is fully closed to traffic and cannot be driven through. A soft closure means the road is partially restricted or limited to local traffic, depending on conditions and access needs.

Officials also noted that several traffic lights are currently out in the city.
